Obtaining seeds

Buy from the Farmer: Cocoa Beans

Eligible natural hostile kills have a 3% seed roll shared uniformly across ten crops: 0.3% for this seed before eligibility and bag-space limits.

Planting & growth

  • In the city, till grass or dirt on a plot where you have permission. In seasonal wilds, place your own dirt first, then till it with a hoe; natural ground cannot be tilled. Protection and claim permissions still apply.
  • Use the planting item; consumes one and requires a free crop position.
  • Water within four blocks, at farmland level or one above, when you till makes wet farmland: 45 minutes to mature, versus 67.5 minutes dry.
  • One bone meal adds 13.5 minutes of growth, not a fixed universal time reduction.
  • Growth follows server time; you do not have to remain beside it.

Season farming: seed to harvest

Harvesting & replanting

A mature harvest yields one produce item and removes the crop. An immature harvest returns one planting item instead. Replant for another cycle; a mature harvest does not automatically return extra seeds. The bag must have room.
